AQUA/WATER, PETROLATUM, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM/MINERAL OIL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, POLYSORBATE 60, LANETH-15, PEG-75 LANOLIN 

DO NOT SHAMPOO BEFORE RELAXING.  Check condition of client's hair and scalp. Select correct relaxer strength. Avoid vigorous brushing, combing or tugging. Test the product on one hair strand using "Relaxer Application" direction before relaxing all the hair even if your client’s hair has already been relaxed. If the hair breaks or the scalp is irritated after the test, do not use this or any other relaxer.

RELAXER APPLICATION: Wear suitable disposable gloves throughout the relaxing process. Use a timer. The application time should be counted in the total processing time. Do not leave the relaxer in contact with the hair for more than the time determined by the strand test. For more comfort during relaxing, it is recommended that you apply Mizani Butter Base Scalp Protector on hairline, neck and ear area.

• STEP 1 

1. Apply protective base. Avoid hair. Set timer accordingly. (See Relaxing Timing Chart).

2. Apply the relaxing cream to dry hair without touching the scalp. If the hair has already been relaxed, apply to the new growth only. Apply generous amount of relaxer to most resistant area using back of rat-tail comb or application brush. DO NOT apply to scalp. Do not pull the hair during application.

3. Continue application throughout entire head, parting in thin sections. Complete all sections and apply to hairline last.

4. With fingers or back of rat-tail comb, gently smooth hair at scalp area until desired straightness is achieved. DO NOT exceed recommended timing.

5. Rinse thoroughly with water until the product is completely rinsed-out. Make sure that the rinsing water does not come into contact with eyes.

6. With gloves on, proceed to STEP 2: Selecting Option A*– Conditioning OR Option B**– Butter Blend Balance Hair Bath and rinse well. (Please Note: If you plan to use Semi-Permanent HairColor after chemical relaxer service, see Mizani Semi-Permanent Haircolor usage instructions first). You must shampoo and rinse thoroughly at least twice to eliminate all traces of relaxer.

RELAXING TIMING CHART FINE/COLOR-TREATED: 13 MINS.

MEDIUM/NORMAL: 15 MINS.

COARSE/RESISTANT:18 MINS.

CONDITIONING DIRECTIONS

• STEP 2: (SELECT OPTION A OR B)

OPTION A CONDITIONING BEFORE NEUTRALIZING SHAMPOO:

1. Apply and distribute Moisturfuse ® Moisturizing Conditioner to hair and cover with plastic cap. DO NOT USE HEAT!

2. Leave in for 10 minutes.

3. Rinse thoroughly.

4. Apply 1 to 1½ oz. Butter Blend Balance Hair Bath to hair.

5. Lather and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5.

OPTION B NEUTRALIZING SHAMPOO BEFORE CONDITIONING:

1. Apply 1 to 1½ oz. Butter Blend Balance Hair Bath to hair.

2. Lather and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

4. Apply and distribute Moisturfuse ® Moisturizing Conditioner to hair & cover with plastic cap. 5. Rinse, towel dry and proceed to normal styling.
